Walking Tour: Migrational Echo-logies – The Silences We Want to Hear

29 August 2025, 6 PM
Registration required

With the interactive walk Migrational Echo-logies, Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro extends within reach Kunst Raum Mitte’s program exploring (post-)migrant environments into the streets of Berlin-Mitte, linking Black migration experiences with plants, sound and the city’s hidden histories.

As part of within reach, Kunst Raum Mitte focuses on (post-)migrant environments and their interconnections with the history of the former galerie weisser elefant and its urban surroundings. The walking tour Migrational Echo-logies extends the themes of within reach into the neighboring streets, mapping invisible histories of movement, displacement and belonging beyond the gallery walls.

Guided by Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro, this tour through the neighborhood of Kunst Raum Mitte traces Black migrational experiences in connection to the German cultural industries of the Weimar Republic, WWII and the GDR. Along the route, these narratives are reflected through the testimonies of plant life and their sonic frequencies, revealing hidden connections between the city’s landscapes and its colonial pasts. The interactive tour offers an intersectional re-adaptation of archiving the testimonies of populations displaced and erased. Participants are guided on a botanical journey, uncovering remnants held in the soil that speak of the queer and abolitionist stories it carries.

Starting point: Kunst Raum Mitte, Auguststraße 21, 10117 Berlin

Limited capacity. Please register until 28.8. via e-mail to info@kunstraummitte.berlin
