Lecture Performance: From Language
From Language is a performative lecture by Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino, in which, departing from their practice, the artist explores core linguistic aspects such as semantics, translation, and interpretation. The public presentation of From Language at the Autumn School of Kunst Raum Mitte marks its first iteration in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Christine Krammer, from Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, noted that with From Language, “Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino formulates a precise plea for an institutionally conscious, poetic-political art production. By integrating family biography, everyday objects, and performative spatial design, they create complex aesthetic arrangements that question the boundaries between private and public, artistic and economic, symbolic and material.”
The piece has been previously presented at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, Kunstverein Nürnberg, and the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel.
