Elisa R. Linn

Lecture Performance & Screening: If the city were gold, we’d still crave the filth

In her presentation, Elisa R. Linn discusses her research on artistic and activist counter-publics. She places the resulting potential for failure and disidentification in the context of Berlin’s urban space in the 1980s and 1990s—and beyond. Among other things, she refers to the Club der polnischen Versager (Club of Polish Failures), which was founded in the 1990s by Polish artists living in Berlin and is now an “institution of German-Polish cultural exchange” in Berlin-Mitte.

As part of the Film Club der polnischen Versager*innen (Film Club of Polish Failures), which was founded in 2021 by Elisa R. Linn, Tiphanie Kim Mall, and Flora Klein at the Club der polnischen Versager (Club of Polish Failures) and shows selected experimental films on individual evenings, two episodes from the series Rozmowa z ciekawym człowiekiem / Conversation with an Interesting Person—a satirical commentary by Adam Gusowski and Piotr Mordel—will be presented at Kunst Raum Mitte.
