Julius Pristauz (*1998, Judenburg, AT) lives and works in Berlin. He studied transmedia art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and performance at the Faculty of Fine Arts (FaVU) in Brno, Czechia.
In his multimedia practice, Pristauz explores performative forms of expression and their relationship to built space, as well as social binaries in various media and formats. His installation and performance works repeatedly address the construction and gender aspects of identities, as well as tension between private and public spheres in a broader sense. In addition to his work as a freelance artist, Pristauz works as an independent curator and author in the field of contemporary culture. His artistic works have been shown at Kunsthal Mechelen (2025), Kunstraum Lakeside, Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (2025), Kunstbunker Nürnberg (2024), Kunsthalle Wien (2023), and Halle für Kunst Steiermark, Graz (2023), among others.
